Great Yarmouth Swimming Club

On Saturday at Downham Market, the club swam in the third round of the National Swimming League.

The lead position bounced back and forth between Newmarket and Great Yarmouth, with Norwich Swan and Aylsham racing for third position.

On Saturday at Downham Market, the club swam in the third round of the National Swimming League.

The lead position bounced back and forth between Newmarket and Great Yarmouth, with Norwich Swan and Aylsham racing for third position.

By race 42 Newmarket were leading by one point from Great Yarmouth with eight relays left. The relays were fast and hard fought and the final placings were: Newmarket 240, Great Yarmouth 237, Norwich Swan 233, Aylsham 185.

Good first places came from Ellie Holden backstroke, Megan Newman backstroke, Grace Hubbard freestyle, Emily Pestka fly, Jack Utting fly, James Applegate freestyle, and Daniel Henderson fly.

Personal bests were achieved by Laura Loveland, Paige Lovage, Megan Newman, Catherine Lee, Emma Ritches, Grace Hubbard, James Walker, Declan Scott, Jack Utting, James Walker, James Applegate, Daniel Henderson, Harley Matthews, Brandon Tennant, Andrew Moore, Daniel Buck, Jack Ollington and George Goldspink.

Valuable points came from Kayleigh Beare, Kelly Pyewell, Zoe Prettyman, Laura Harris, Charlotte Askew, Charlotte Smith, Shanise Webster, William Beck, Tom Smith, Matt Hosier, Daniel Evans and Ollie Lee.

Bucky and his partner are wished all the best in Australia.

Club captains for the year are seniors: Oliver Lee and Emily Pestka; juniors: Andrew Moore and Shanise Webster.

Vice-Captains senior George Goldspink and Hollie Hacking, junior Charlotte Smith and Tom Smith.
