TWO members of Great Yarmouth Referees' Association have been rewarded for their good performances this season with appointments to Norfolk FA Cup Finals.

Ian Gardner will be an assistant referee at the Sunday Intermediate Cup Final and Daniel Wright an assistant at the Norfolk Minor Cup Final.

There is more good news for Daniel as he has been promoted from a Level 7 to Level 6 referee as has another member Les Peirce.

Congratulations will be in order at GYRA's annual meeting which takes place on Thursday, April 9 at Legends Lounge Bar starting 7.45pm.

There will be plenty to discuss as there is a proposed re-vamp of the rules and re-structuring of the committee, so members who want their say are urged to make every effort to attend. The association would like to thank Paul's Bacon Company for sponsoring this meeting.

Plans are being made for a re-union of former association members on Thursday, May 14.

Letters of invitation are going to of ex-members that have been found in archive records. If you are a former referee and member of GYRA and are interested in attending and re-living old times with former colleagues, then please call secretary Stuart Reeve on 01493 731651 or e-mail at stuart@seadell.co.uk.
