Three Great Yarmouth Road Runners travelled to Bury St Edmunds to take part in the Tarpley 20-miler.

First home, with training going well for the London Marathon, was Mark Stone in a time of 2:47, not on this occasion getting a personal best.

Karen Peck used the outing as a training run. Fresh from her marathon the previous Sunday, and a 20-miler the day before, she ran in strongly at 3:16. Paul Rivers came in shortly after, in 3:23.

James Chaplin-Madden travelled to the Thorpe Park Half Marathon to represent Great Yarmouth Road Runners in the inaugural race in which there were 3,000 runners.

The course was mostly flat, however, there were a couple of big hills and the weather stayed mostly dry although cold.

James managed to finish in 1:44 with which he was pleased. It was an event the Great Yarmouth Road Runner would definitely do again given the opportunity.
