Again the Great Yarmouth 3 Lions junior team came away with more winners' trophies than any other club at the Bury St Edmund's ISKA open kickboxing tournament last weekend, winning 17 bouts.

Again the Great Yarmouth 3 Lions junior team came away with more winners' trophies than any other club at the Bury St Edmund's ISKA open kickboxing tournament last weekend, winning 17 bouts.

England squad member Cameron McGarrigle (14) was in superb form, blitzing Connor Mason from Newark with lovely punch combinations and sharp footwork.

Ben Mitchell (12) boxed superbly, also beating a Newark lad, with his aggressive punches and hard body kicks.

Eastern Counties junior champion Luca McComb (7) beat Bury's Ryan Sinclair (8) in a bout that the promoter awarded “fight of the day”.

Henry Andrews (12), Kelsea Carroll (12), Tyler Munro (8), Sydney Butcher (6), Tommy Bracken (7), Sebastian Havens (11), British and Commonwealth schoolgirl champion Jade Munro (12), Imogen Casey (9) and William Casey (6), all won their bouts.

First-timers Charlotte Broom (12), Courtney Hunter (13), Jack Doherty (14) and Kaitlin Carroll (7) all won their debut bouts in style. Becky Bailey (12), drew her bout showing plenty of aggression. Jade Marie Campbell (12) bravely took on Bury's far more experienced Abigail Read (12), who has had nearly 20 bouts, and fought her heart out eventually losing but was awarded “female fighter of the day” by club coach Dave Munro.

Connor McHugh (6) was awarded “Junior boy fighter of the day” by club coaches Dave Munro and Bin Tyler. He was undoubtedly also the club's most improved under 10s junior.

Junior training at the 3 Lions Gym on Estcourt Road, is Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.15-7.15pm under 9 and 7.15-8.30pm under 14s and Saturday afternoons 1-3pm.
