Rowe strikes in Martham’s six-hit show
WINTERTON Cricket Club held their first six-a-side tournament as part of their ongoing fund-raising to build a new tea room at the playing field.
The club invited a range of local teams to compete in a quick and exciting form of the game on Sunday. With only five overs per team to bat, and all players in the fielding side asked to bowl one over, all players were required to show their range of cricketing skills.
With six competing teams throughout the day, it was left to Papa Millers CC and Martham CC to challenge for the overall honours.
Papa Millers set a total of 56, with Tom Witchelow providing some lusty blows towards the end of the innings. This proved to be too smalll a total, with Martham reaching their target in the fourth over, again supported by some clean hitting by Josh Rowe.
Thanks went to all volunteers for their help in supporting the club.
