Broadland-Great Yarmouth Rugby Football Club and the Borough of Great Yarmouth have been asked to organise a tier one beach rugby tournament.

The Rugby Football Union, in conjunction with the Broadland-Great Yarmouth RFC will host the event on the beach close to the Marina Centre on July 11, the first game kicking off at noon and the final being played at around 6pm.

Beach rugby is a non-contact version of the game, aimed at players from six years upwards and open to men and women. It is designed to be fun and a good way of promoting rugby to a wider audience.

The event will be supported by four current England internationals - two from the men's game and two from the ladies'. O2, the current England sponsors, will bring the marketing materials, including the famous blue room, the O2 England bus and a mobile Twickenham shop. They will also supply four blow-up pitches and a variety of training games.

An information pack and registration form can be found on www.BroadlandRFC.com. There is a registration fee of £35 per team.
