JUST two great Yarmouth & District Athletics Club members took part in the Great Yarmouth Half Marathon, organised by Great Yarmouth Road Runners. Some members were helping at the GYDAC athletic meeting at the Wellesley while others were cycling the 60-mile Suffolk Coastal Bike Ride.

In the half marathon, Sean Jermy enjoyed an excellent run, finishing in 47th position in a great time of 1-36:46. This result shows that his training for a mid-September marathon is going well.
Dave Drewitt recorded 2-01:57 in the windy conditions. There were 191 finishers in this popular event.
Diane Clark and friends took part in the 60-mile coastal bike ride for the Anthony Nolan Appeal.
The route was quite undulating and the strong head winds made progress tough at times, but everyone enjoyed the day.
Last Wednesday Frankie Turner ran as a junior lady in the third of the Wroxham 5k series, recording a good time of 22:34, to finish in 165th place in a field of 300.
