Runners hail new generation
Running 20 miles is every bit as difficult as running the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles. Full credit then to all those taking part in last weekend's Wymondham Spring 20 race.
Running 20 miles is every bit as difficult as running the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles. Full credit then to all those taking part in last weekend's Wymondham Spring 20 race.
The 263 finishers included eight of the Great Yarmouth Road Runners.
With some personnel changes taking place at the club recently, the stage is now set for a new generation of runners to emerge, and two of these were to the fore in Sunday's race.
Following first clubman home Paul Brookshaw were Matthew Sutton and Ed Shulver, both really making their presence felt in their first attempt at the distance.
This first trio, with times under two hours and 30 minutes, was followed by another one dipping under the three-hour mark: Tony Anderson, Marie Worrall and Carole Spong, the latter two sharing the same time.
Making up an impressive contingent were Angela Pacey and Rod Shulver.
