RUNNING: The untimely death of Paul Brookshaw cast a shadow over two races last week. In both cases there was a one-minute silence at the start of the race as a mark of respect for this popular local runner.

In the first of the two races, the Bungay 10k, the contingent from the Great Yarmouth Road Runners ran together to show their particular solidarity at this difficult time.

Two days later the Guy Fawkes 10k at Trowse saw three of the Seasiders in action in what was, for them, still a quite sombre occasion.

Results - Bungay 10k: Karen Manning 48:19, John Hills, Matthew Sutton, Andy Peck.

Guy Fawkes 10k: 23 Sean Jermy 39:21 (pb), 43 Matthew Sutton 40:41, 71 John Bone 44:10 (1st over 60).
