Running quartet in capital form
THE London Marathon saw great runs for the four ladies from Great Yarmouth and District Athletic Club.Sue Fraser was very pleased to finish in 4-32:45 after suffering problems with an Achilles and having to cut down mileage for the last few weeks.

Sue Fraser was very pleased to finish in 4-32:45 after suffering problems with an Achilles and having to cut down mileage for the last few weeks.
Next, in the great time of 5-03:45 came Stefanie Rudrum who put in a lot of training to achieve this outstanding result. Following close behind and running a best time by over 24 minutes was Elaine Haggarty. This season her times have been improving with every race and she recorded 5-08:55.
Running her 13th marathon, not all in London, Pat Brightman decided to dress up this year as Minnie Mouse. Not only did she enjoy every minute of the race, she also was interviewed for the BBC. Her time was 5-49:25, including interview!
All the ladies recorded good times for their half-marathon splits and were strong in the second half of the race.
All the runners agreed that it was the best marathon for many years.

There was disappointment for John England, who picked up an injury in the Bungay Half Marathon the previous weekend. Although having treatment on the injury, he was unable to run and had to withdraw.
