With a nip in the air and a keen northerly wind it didn’t feel too much like July at the start of the Gorleston parkrun.

The sun soon broke through and it was back to the hot weather. Participant numbers were a little down, with 270 walkers, joggers and runners finishing the 428th 5k event at Gorleston. Twenty-one first timers were welcomed and 26 people managed to clock their fastest time.

Local club runner Sean Jermy cannot make it to parkrun very often but it was great to see him finishing first in 17.34. Second was Johnny Lee chasing Sean on the final lap. Johnny’s time was 17.48 and third-placed Tyler Bilyard finished in 18.17. For the ladies, Danielle Sullivan was first in 21.07, Holly Bunn second in 21.46 with Alice Craddock closing the gap to finish in 21.49. This was also a special week for Alice who completed her 50th run. Vikki Brownsell had a great run to achieve her 100th run in 32.48.
