Acle becomes a Norfolk Senior Cup hotbed tomorrow when they do battle with highly-fancied King’s Lynn for a place in in the last eight of the county’s showpiece amateur competition.

A bumper crowd 400-plus is expected at Bridewell Lane for the visit of last season’s beaten finalists (1.45ko).

The Anglian Combination Premier Division high-flyers will be the underdogs against the the United Counties League promotion hopefuls.

But Acle’s Martyn Sinclair, who manages the side with Tony Ward, said: “A win or a draw would be great for the club but I am not going to put pressure on our boys – they can go out and enjoy themselves. I have got every faith in my lads that they will go out and make a fist of it and come off having given 100 per cent. Our form is good, the players are confident and they enjoy what they do. I understand Lynn have got problems with Jack Defty missing which is a plus for us.”

Blofield entertain Norwich St Johns in an all-Anglian Combination Premier Division affair (1.45).
