HEMSBY entertained local rivals Winterton A in Norfolk League Division Four and won by four wickets.

The Hemsby captain decided to have a bowl and Winterton were going at five runs an over before Noble-Parker hit a full toss straight to Bradnock.

Smith soon picked up both Roper and Reeder. Crawley looked to rebuild for Winterton and made a determined 29. All the Hemsby bowlers did well, sticking to their task and well backed by the fielders to limit the Winterton total to 130 all out.

With Reeder seemingly fired up. Hudson and Ryan looked to chase the runs down with Hudson going after Roper. Reeder was getting the ball through at pace and proving that there was plenty of bounce in the pitch.

Hambrook dismissed Ryan with the score on 65, and when Hudson went with 84 on the board, Hemsby were having a bit of a wobble. But Shepherd and Kidd saw them home in the 32nd over.

Hemsby A (26pts) beat Garboldisham C (8) by 75 runs in Norfolk League Division Eight with Matthew Debnam claiming seven for 34.

At Garboldisham, Hemsby elected to bat on a good wicket, which immediately looked costly as Seago was dismissed second ball of the innings. L Stronach quickly followed, leaving Smith steadily scoring the runs.

He and Parmenter played some nice shots before Parmenter was dismissed for 28. N Stronach and Smith then set about the bowlers, before Smith was removed for an excellent 89.

By the time Stronach was bowled for 57 and White for a respectable 28 and Hemsby looked well on the way to a good, defendable score.

But the tail didn’t wag and the last four wickets falling for just five runs meant that Hemsby closed their innings on 234 all out.

Garboldisham’s openers scored quickly before Debnam took his first wicket with the score on 65.

Garboldisham then stalled as Smith took the second wicket with the score at 79. Debnam continued to bowl effectively to claim another five wickets with only 28 runs being added.

Smith then took another wicket before Debnam came back to claim his seventh victim, Garboldisham all out for 159 runs.
