Five races out of 10 nominated have to be run during the year and last Thursday evening's Ryston Runners five miles race was one of the 10.

On a warm evening five GYDAC members ran the annual race, part of which was on the A10 road which was as usual quite busy.

Chris Gay finished in a great time of 36min 32sec in 75th place, despite setting off too quickly. In 102nd slot, John England was pleased with his run of 40:30.

Three ladies completed the race with Maureen England getting under 50 minutes in 143rd position, timed at 49:44. Following closely was Elaine Haggarty recording 52:17 and Pat Brightman, finishing strongly, in 149th place in 58:34.

Next race is the Worstead Festival five miles.
