Bilham and Taylor took Winterton's opening bowlers to pieces, scoring 83 off the first 10 overs. Johnny Winn took back a bit of control, bowling 12 overs straight through on debut, taking 1-45.

Taylor reached 51 before being Holsworth's first league wicket. Bilham followed him soon after. Costessey continued to score steadily until No 6 McKnight smashed 88 in quick time.

The highlight for the home team was a fantastic 6-65 off 11 overs for Holsworth, but Costessey reached 312-7 off their 50 overs.

Winterton never looked like getting anywhere near that total with only four players reaching double figures. Andy Ewing came of age with an impressive 39 not out. Winterton were 111 all out.
