AFTER the wet and windy weather last Sunday, Great Yarmouth & District Athletic Club runners of the annual Trowse 10k were faced with continual snow showers, making for a very scenic run.
AFTER the wet and windy weather last Sunday, Great Yarmouth & District Athletic Club runners of the annual Trowse 10k were faced with continual snow showers, making for a very scenic run.
The headquarters at the ski centre looked amazing covered in snow.
The race is a two-lap course, with a short distance along the Whitingham Broad before tackling the Trowse hill with the descent through the woodland in very muddy conditions.
David Goodwin, returning to form, ran well to finish in 132nd place in 47:59, with John England in 151, timed at 49:26, close behind.
First club lady home was Maureen England, who enjoyed running in the snow and recorded 1-02:01, an improvement on the last
two years.
Mother and daughter team Dawn and Carly Clegg ran steadily and were pleased with their times of 1-07:42 and 1-07:43 in 298/299 places.
Returning to running after a few weeks out, Denise Goodwin ran confidently in 1-09:42, in 302nd slot. All runners received a goody bag including a cream egg and a great medal.
