The annual meeting and awards night of the Great Yarmouth and District Athletic Club was held at the King’s Centre.

The secretary, Gary Wakeley, reflected on the club’s progress last season and his hopes of the club finally reaching club mark status this season on his re-election as secretary.

The club president, Paul Garrod, made the presentations. The best performance by a female athlete again went to Sophie McKinna for a 17.14m shot. The best male performance was by under 15 Tyler Bilyard for a 2 min 08.66 800m.

A new trophy was awarded in memory of John Simpson, to be awarded for services to the club. This was presented to Alan Jones by Sylvia Simpson.
