It was a cold grey day at Gorleston on Sunday for the start of the monthly Sprint series sailed on windward leeward courses. The wind was around F2-3 from the East rather than the forecasted NE’erly, so racing was across a building ebb tide. In the first two races Tim Wilkins and Heather Martin in a RS500 were only just behind the leading RS400 of Martin Browne and Di Slatter winning both on corrected time. Race three saw a photo finish with three RS400s crossing the line together, Richard Fryer and Carol Smalls just pipping Richard Brown and Peter Vickers. In the final race Chris Sallis and Ian Turner, in their RS800 built up a good lead on the pursuing RS400 ‘s, but were just pipped on corrected time by Martin Browne and Di Slatter.
