Acle's Tim Stone has been selected alongside Fakenham Gallow's Jamie Chestney and Mervyn King.

After trialling well, the three Norfolk stars were selected in key positions in the 24-man team, with 23-year-old Chestney being given the responsibility of skipping a rink for his country for the first time indoors.

With John Rednall, Andrew Manton and Tom Doig at the front end, Chestney's rink suffered a 21-15 defeat in the trial at Northampton, but he will be delighted that he will have Geordie Brett Arkley and two world champions in support in Perth.

Reigning world indoor singles champion Billy Jackson, from Lincoln, lines up as Chestney's second man, while the No 3 is none other than his Gallow clubmate King, with whom he won the British Isles pairs title last winter.

Acle IBC's Stone, since making his international debut last year, has hit the headlines by qualifying for the World Bowls Tour circuit in all three of this winter's ranking events.

Chestney's place as Andy Thomson's No 3, which he has occupied for the past four seasons, will be taken by his young rival Sam Tolchard, who, along with King, is in England's Commonwealth Games team for New Delhi.
