Students from East Norfolk Sixth Form College’s Step into Sport programme volunteered for the local East Norfolk School Sports Partnership tag rugby festival. It enabled students to gain leadership hours for voluntary work within the community and to put some of their course theory into practice. Working with Year 5 and 6 pupils from 10 local primary schools, the students organised the refereeing, scoring, results table and time keeping. Steve Mooney, head of PE at the college, said: “Working alongside coaches from Broadland-Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft & Yarmouth RFCs created a brilliant day of rugby for the local primary school children and also provided the East Norfolk students with coaching experience which will help them with their future career plans.” Students left to right: Callum Walchester, Jordan Stephenson, Dan Lewis, Lauren Halliwell, Joe Cooper, Laura Ash, Louis Phillippo, Bradley Robinson, Nate Rogers, Craig Alexander, Harry Buckley and Scott Court.
