Step into Sport is a programme, recognised by employers and universities, that allows students aged between 14 and 19 to register any voluntary hours that they have completed.

With over 50 students signed up to the programme, the development of leadership and volunteering has dramatically improved this academic year, with the busiest times still to come.

As the hours are continually being added to the programme, 16 students have been outstanding and recorded over 25 voluntary hours, with five-star students registering over 50 hours.

The college works closely with the East Norfolk School Sport Partnership to promote Step into Sport within the college itself, but also through all of the cluster schools.

The ENSSP also provides many events for East Norfolk SFC students to help out at, with many coming up on the calendar such as a mini tennis tournament, a kwick cricket event and multi-skills day for Years 2 and 3, as well as six of the students who make up the student sport management group, who volunteered at the BCS Nationals in April.

East Norfolk Sixth Form College is also providing 16 students as volunteers at the Active Norfolk Youth Games in June, which is a sports day for children with disabilities, with a wide range of sports such as athletics, trampoline, Boccia and tri golf.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lyn Winkworth at the college on 01493 660393.
