Yarmouth Kingfisher ABC

Nico Adams of Kingfisher ABC was a decisive winner when outpointing the shorter stockier J Crosthwaite of Attleborough ABC.

Adams made his height and reach count from the start picking off his opponent with a strong left jab and straight rights. Crosthwaite tried to move forward and slip inside Adams defence but Adams worked hard throughout the first two rounds to keep his distance. In the final round the Attlebrough boxer made a big effort to close in on Adams and initially had some success working to the body.

Adams worked hard using both hands to good effect and moved out of danger until the finial bell. Giving another well-deserved win to the young Kingfisher boxer.

Jack Butcher of Kingfisher ABC lost a close bout on points to Joe May. In the first round Butcher took the fight to May using a good left jab his opponent was forced to stand off. As the round progressed Butcher started to use his right and an effective left hook to the body. The second round was much closer with both boxers landing telling punches. The last round started well for Butcher, putting his opponent under pressure. However recent illness started to take its toll on Butcher. May must have sensed this and, coming back at Butcher, was stronger and outworked the Kingfisher boxer in what proved to be a decisive second half of the finial round.
