ON Saturday Great Yarmouth Swimming Club B team took part in the Diss Pool Trophy and finished third behind a strong Hadleigh team.Harry Yusuff and Daniel Henderson were the only swimmers to gain first places in the open and 13/u fly, but good second places came from George Goldspink breaststroke, Andrew Moore backstroke and breaststroke, George Yusuff breaststroke and David Maddox backstroke.

Harry Yusuff and Daniel Henderson were the only swimmers to gain first places in the open and 13/u fly, but good second places came from George Goldspink breaststroke, Andrew Moore backstroke and breaststroke, George Yusuff breaststroke and David Maddox backstroke.

The girls could not match this but third places came from Hollie Hacking breaststroke, Amelia Hacking backstroke and breaststroke and Megan Newman backstroke.

On Sunday at Thetford, 36 swimmers from the club took part in an open meet to good effect, as Great Yarmouth attained 10 first places, nine seconds, 12 thirds, 12 fourths, 18 fifths and nine sixths.

Finishing first were Keelan Pyewell, Jack Utting, Connor Webster, Olivia Smith and Grace Hubbard. Second places from Shanise Webster, Emily Pestka, Issac Kirby and James Applegate. Third places from Patrick Manning, James Mann and Ryan Driver.

The team gained 67 personal best times, and with excellent support for the gala from both swimmers and parents the club is to be congratulated.
