Temperatures soared at the latest Gorleston Parkrun, attracting a near record turnout of 381.

Parkrun tourism was rife, with many visiting runners present, bolstering the first-timers’ count to 62.

It was still a local affair at the top. William Simm ran 17.44 to claim first, Marc Evans was second in 18.04 and Kieran Hagan third in 18.26.

Alice Doggrell from Bristol and West AC took first spot for the women in 20.18. Danielle Sullivan (20.46) was one of 36 participants earning a pb this week while Jo Anverali came in third in 22.15.

Eight participants were celebrating milestone runs. Dylan Neeve and Shaun Long both did their 50th run, Christopher Comyn did his 100th while Terry Hubbard and Julie Fletcher both reached 150. It was the 200th run for Sally Hewitt from Wellingborough AC. Penny Studley had a social run to celebrate her 250th parkrun whilst Michael Childs completed his 300th.
