The first was the Spring Pairs which was held at Northgate and hotly contested by the five finalists.

Teams were running neck and neck with Ernie George and Ryan Moore for Burrage trying to shake off their large handicaps, but in the end having to settle for fourth place just ahead of Hospital Sparks' Chris Durrant and David Jackman.

Kings Church A, with Andrew Lilley on form supported by Simon Rouse, won nine points to take third spot. Telecom, represented by Dick Boyce and Arron Kemp, were steadily stacking up the points, Arron won four but Dick took six when defeating Ernie George 21-20.

Mike Wood and Darren Smith took Kings Church B into the play-off game when Darren narrowly pipped Chris Durrant 21-20 and took his score to six points.

Dick took up the challenge for Telecom against Mike and with the handicaps level at plus one a good final game was played with Mike winning the trophy for Kings Church B with a score of 21-19.

Six pairs entered a doubles competition played as one group,

Martin Clarke with Thomas Baxter beat Colin Fortescue and Josh Baxter in a close final game 21-19. Both pairs had won four points each.

Thursday saw the Handicap Singles contested, players drawn into three groups.

Darren Smith pushed Arron Kemp took runners-up spot. Martin Clarke won his group, Bob Lamb was runner-up. Thomas Baxter won with John Smith runner-up.

In the quarter-finals Bob beat John 21-18, Thomas beat Colin 21-18, Darren beat Josh 21-10, Arron beat Martin 21-19.

Arron was successful against Thomas in the first semi-final winning 21-16. Darren used his handicap well to beat Bob 21-10.

In an excellent final Arron won the first game 21-12 but went down 15-21 in the second. The third was point for point until Darren clinched the title at 21-20.
