POOL: The second of 16 qualifying rounds was held at Merlins on Sunday for the Great Yarmouth Open Pool Singles Competition, sponsored by Evolved Media.
This week’s winner was David Thraxton, who beat Timmy Ripkeyl 6-4 in the final to qualify for the grand final on Sunday, March 20, when the last 16 will be playing for the first prize of �1,000. The runner-up will receive �500, semi-finalists �150 each and the quarter-finalists �50 each.
The next round is this Sunday at Merlins. Players must register by 3.45pm, play starts at 4pm. Entry fee is �10 per player.
Remaining qualifying dates (all Sundays): November 28; December 5, 12 and 19; January 9, 16, 23 and 30; February 6, 13, 20 and 27; March 6 and 13, followed by the grand final on March 20.
