The county bowls finals were held on Sunday.

Acle IBC's Melanie Haylett played England International and present Champion of Champions Carol Baker. Melanie has had a very good season this year and nothing daunted her.

Acle IBC's Melanie Haylett played England International and present Champion of Champions Carol Baker. Melanie has had a very good season this year and nothing daunted her.

Nicknamed Magical Mel, she proved how good a player she is and continued her magical season by winning and becoming Norfolk ladies' county singles champion.

Meanwhile the U25 county singles championship was between Jamie Howlett and David Smith, both from Acle, and Diddy David Smith became county champion.

They both then teamed up with George Tubby and Tim Stone to play in the county fours final and went on to win this county championship.

On Monday, at 7.30pm, the club's annual meeting will take place, all welcome.

On Monday, May 4 from 11am to 4pm, the club is open to anyone who would like to have a go at bowls. All equipment provided free.

On Saturday, May 10 at 7.30pm, the presentation evening will take place. Tickets £5.
