Yarmouth and District League: The first league title of the season was decided on Saturday when Bohemians defeated rivals Norfolk and Chance 3-0 to win the Division Two title at the first attempt.

The club who only joined the league this season have so far go unbeaten in their division and deservedly have finished as winners.

They were presented with the trophy by fixtures secretary Ryan Starkey after the game and big credit and thanks goes to Norfolk and Chance in showing sportsmanship in staying behind and congratulating Bohemians on their achievements.

Although Norfolk and Chance need one more point to gain promotion at the first attempt they played well and they were missing several key players for this clash and it told as Peter Cooke's side of youth and experience took advantage to collect the points needed to lift the title.

By now we will have known if they have added the Burgess Cup to this with the final played the previous Wednesday. Their cup final opponents Caister United A are the only club who can stop Norfolk and Chance being promoted and they defeated Carpathians 5-4 in a real thriller. GY United still sit third though in the division after they defeated South Yarmouth 3-1 at Halvergate. Martham A collected three points in their quest to avoid the wooden spoon as they defeated an out-of-form MK United Reserves 6-2 at Mill Lane.

The league decider in division two was not the only big game on Saturday as the top two in division one met in the league cup semi-final.

Mk United started the brighter and took an early lead when Brandon Ingram fired in on the turn from 10 yards to give MK the lead. for the next half hour or so they where fairly comfortable but the turning point came when a header from Adam Hodds beat Soloman but Bartram on the goal line handled and the referee had no choice but to warrant the red card.

Adam Thompson stepped up and dispatched the penalty to level for Catfield. In the second half Catfield had more possession against MK United's 10 men but struggled to find a way through. However, the winner came three minutes from time when Whitley drilled in from 10 yards into the top corner to break MK hearts and put Catfield into the league cup final against Lacon Arms. This final will be played on April 21 at 7.30pm at the Wellesley.

Lacon Arms moved into third with a comfortable 9-2 win over Reedham. Lacons have games in hand and two matches with Catfield so the title is very much in their own destiny providing they keep winning.

Albion bounced back from the Wiltshire Cup defeat to narrowly defeat Shrublands 3-2 on Mill Lane while GY international won 2-1 at Hemsby Reserves. The result means Yarmouth Peelers will be playing division two football next season.

The previous Wednesday Peelers held league champions Catfield for 85 minutes at 1-1 before four goals in five minutes earned Catfield three points in a 5-1 win.

The last two Percy Nockolds Trophy quarter-finals were also played as Caister United a beat first division GY International 3-0 to set up a repeat of the Burgess Cup final by drawing Bohemians, while GY United set up a semi-final with Hemsby Reserves by defeating Prostar Windows 2-0 at the rec.

Both semi-finals will be played on Wednesday, April 21 at Gorleston Rec with a 6.15pm kick-off due to possibility of extra-time and penalties.
