BROADLAND-Great Yarmouth Rugby Club held its annual club sevens, played as always in memory of club member David Blizzard.The weather was somewhat colder than in previous years, but a dry afternoon provided a good pitch for rugby sevens and, as always, there were plenty of tries.

The weather was somewhat colder than in previous years, but a dry afternoon provided a good pitch for rugby sevens and, as always, there were plenty of tries.
The winning side, led by James Doggett, lifted the trophy after remaining unbeaten during the afternoon. The winning team was Mickey Pywell, Richard Bristo, Steve Weston, Phil Buckley, Jake Sewell, James Doggett (captain) and Nathan Bensley. Top try scorers on the day were Jake Sewell (7), Adam Towfighi (6) and Royce Chiddle (4).
Broadland's end-of-season summer ball and awards night, takes place on Friday, June 11 at the Broadland-Great Yarmouth's Club House. Tickets priced �30 are available from King's Arms, Great Yarmouth or online at www.broadlandrfc.com
Pre-season training begins on July 5 at 7pm at Cobholm playing field Great Yarmouth, and continues 7-9pm on Monday and Wednesdays throughout July and August.
