The main focus of action this weekend was the league's Knock-Out Cup and Knock-Out Plate quarter-finals.

The game of the day had to be at Norton where, in a topsy-turvey tie, Athletic edged through 5-4 after extra time over holders Camden Tavern.

Both sides led at stages in the first half, which finished 3-3, with the final score finishing 4-4.

It was left to Norton's Chris Smith to net the winner four minutes from the end of extra time to send the village side through at the expense of Tavern.

In the other ties El Sol's good cup form continued as they beat fellow first division outfit Sunningdale Boys 4-1.

The all-second division tie between Newtown Golfers and Dukes FC finished 2-0 to Golfers, and the final tie saw Windmill ease into the last four courtesy of their 6-1 win against Nothing Special.

The semi-final line-up sees El Sol v Newtown Golfers and Norton Athletic v Windmill.

The Knock-Out Plate saw second division Acle Wanderers get the better of first division Hembsy SSC 2-1, whilst Sun FC accounted for Crown Stores 3-1.

King's Arms Crusaders eased through with a 5-0 win at Venture Albion, whilst Camden Tavern Reserves were handed a bye as Greengate were suspended due to monies owed - a matter that has now been cleared up.

The semi-final line-up pits Sun FC v King's Arms Crusaders and Acle Wanderers v Camden Tavern Reserves.

There were two league games played, and in the first division Archers moved to the summit thanks to their narrow 3-2 victory at Lacon Arms.

In the third division, Cantley Rovers and Hembsy FC shared the points following their goal-less draw.

This week the league would like to wish Windmill good luck in their County Cup semi-final as it is hoped to make it two teams through to county finals following El Sol's exploits a fortnight ago. The tie is on the Beaco, kick-off 10.30am.
