Bradwell's Sophie Parrott, 17, has just arrived back from the World Baton Twirling Championships and International Cup held in Ireland, where she represented England in solo, two baton and team events. There were teams from as far as Australia and Canada competing.

In the two baton she was the only British girl to reach the final in senior level, coming in at a well deserved ninth place. Sophie just missed out on the solo final by one place but in her two England team events gained a second and a fourth place.

She trains three times a week and also helps train local twirling troupe Waveney Twirlers.

Norfolk County Council Sportsaid have supported her for the past two years and have just recently awarded her a grant of Award for Excellence to assist her in her recent trip to Ireland.

This has been a great help financially as Sophie also has to travel to Dagenham, Essex on a regular basis for England training and also competes all over the country. Next year's International Cup is being held in Australia and Sophie is desperately seeking sponsorship to ensure she can compete and commit to the England team.

If anyone is genuinely interested in sponsoring Sophie for 2009, a promotional DVD is available on request. For more details tel 01493 661172.
