Two junior finals at Acle go all the way to the very last end

Acle Indoor Bowls held its junior finals and both went to the last end.

In the Under 12s, 10-year-old Martia Linford met 11-year-old Finley Brown and after some close bowling, Martia won 9-5.

In the Under 16s Ryan Garman played Dominic Cook. The game swung back and forth with a final end having six bowls within 15 inches of the jack. Ryan eventually won 11-7. The Saunders Cup and the Shield was presented by Jill Saunders.

At home to Dereham A, the Men’s B team wanted as many points as possible. Brian Kirby, Will Jeffries, John Harris and Wyn Willimott were in devastating form and won 42-6. Johnstone Mackie, Andy Flynn, Arthur Jolliffe and Alan Benson-Nutt won 33-19, Brian Grint’s rink finished 20-21 and Barney Wymer’s rink lost 14-15. Result 109-61 overall and 5-2.
