OVER 800 people at the Ocean Room watched Bin Tyler of the 3 Lions Gym take the WKA World Light-weight Full Contact title with a stunning head kick ko win over late substitute, Poland's IKF national champion Malwiko, in the third round of their exciting bout.

He will be travelling to France in the future to defend his world title, and if successful will be defending against the Spanish national champion at the Ocean Room on August 22.

It was a great night for the 3 Lions Kickboxing Gym who now boast two world champions - Bin Tyler and Cameron McGarrigle (15). No other kickboxing club in the area has ever achieved this.

The closures of all European airports and Eurostar sold out left Tyler's scheduled opponent, Frenchman Wesley Courville, stranded in Paris.

Tyler won the opening two rounds with his sharp boxing then dropped the Polish fighter with a perfect left hook for a count.

When he got up and the Great Yarmouth man finished him off in style with a spectacular head kick.

The 3 Lions fighter Conor 'Ninja' Judge (15) successfully defended his south east area junior Thaiboxing title against Ely's Brandon Weller, winning every round with his sharp boxing and powerful low-kicks.

Conor will be at the British open junior full contact championships in Birm-ingham next weekend with other members of the busy 3 Lions junior team.

Kelsea Carroll (12) was awarded the WKA schoolgirl European semi contact title at 35 kilos on a bye when her Irish opponent failed to make the weigh in.

Ben Mitchell (13) beat Connor Woodhall, also of Newark, in a fine display of aggression.

Lowestoft's Imogen Casey (nine) beat Ipswich's much heavier Alana Thompson in a good hard bout.

Marty 'Boy' Duke lost a very close bout with Newark's Mick Blackburn.

Lowestoft's Carlos Moran (10), having only his second bout fought brilliantly against his much more experienced opponent, losing a very close points decision. Lowestoft's Luca McComb (8) wasn't his usual self in his bout.

Dave Carson stepped in to fight much heavier opponent, Ely's Bart, when both their opponents pulled out. Carson did really well, showing much improved boxing until he got caught with a spinning kick and was dropped with a head kick before his coaches pulled him out.

Conor Judge was awarded 3 Lions fighter of the night.

Ipswich fighter Lucjan Lnainy beat Norwich's Duanne Green for the WKA south east area full contact light-heavyweight title.

Training at 3 Lions Gym on Estcourt Road is every evening and Saturday afternoons: everybody is welcome.
