Weston scores all Broadland points
Thetford 0, Broadland–Great Yarmouth 10
RUGBY: With Thetford struggling at the bottom of the league this should have been an easy win for the Great Yarmouth side.
The first half was a highly defensive affair, with Jamie Alfshinpour making a last-ditch tackle to prevent a Thetford score. Some hard work in the forwards, notably from Matt Beckett and Kieran Wilkes, drove the ball towards the Thetford 22 line, and with a penalty awarded Tom Weston kicked the first points of the game.
Broadland’s defence was rock-solid as Thetford were struggling to break the gain line. Broadland were however making some inroads into the Thetford half.
A well-crafted move set Tom Weston clear and he side-stepped the wing then the full-back before diving over to score (converted Weston).
Broadland continued to apply pressure and a last-minute drop-goal attempt from Weston drifted wide, leaving the Yarmouth side with a comfortable win.
