Martham made the long trip to North Runcton A in Norfolk Alliance DIvision Three and returned home with an emphatic win.
The home side won the toss and elected to field — a decision which appeared to be a good one with both openers clean bowled early on.
This bought skipper Alex Sayer and Jack Whatmough together and the pair proceeded to put on a wonderful third wicket stand of 162, with barely a chance given. When Sayer fell for 62, there was to be no respite for the hard working Runcton bowlers as Lewis Dunn entered the fray. Whatmough went on to make a magnificent 123 and Dunne followed on the last ball of the innings for a quick-fire 63 as Martham reached a daunting 293-7.
In reply, the home side lost early wickets as opening bowlers Whatmough (3/5) and Kieran Spencer (2/6) sparkled, while pick of the bowlers was Archie Smith (4/15) as Runcton were all out for 105.
