Rising star Alfie Hewett had an unexpected surprise on Tuesday when he was presented with a new racket by Pilch Sports.
The 14-year-old wheelchair tennis player from Cantley, who is the World Junior Masters Champion, made an appearance at the Pilch Sports store in Norwich and was on hand to answer questions any customers had and to let people know all about the sport.
Pilch Sports, who kindly sponsor Alfie, presented the racket as an extra gift. Pictured is Jim Stevenson, manager of Pilch Sports making the presentation.
Alfie was quite taken aback. “I didn’t expect that all but I am so grateful to Pilch Sports for that kind gesture and for all their help. It’s really expensive to buy rackets so this helps me enormously”.
Alfie is currently fourth in the World junior singles rankings, is World Junior Masters Champion (singles and doubles) and is also reigning National junior singles and doubles champion.
