Great Yarmouth Sunday League (Cliff Hotel)

The weekend was semi-final week for Division Two in the league cup. AC Mill Lane lost to Windmill Reserves who follow their first team into their respective league cup final with a 0-4 win on the Beaconsfield. Acle Wanderers also travelled to the Beaconsfield to face Seajacks and went home with a resounding 8-1 win.

In the Division Three league cup Belton United saw off the Blackfrairs 7-1, to finish top of the table in the group stage.

In Division One Windmill continue to march on to the title, despite being given a scare by a dominant Gorleston Albion in the first half, who still found themselves a goal down to a penalty before half time.

In the end Windmill’s superior finishing gave them a flattering 4-0 win.

Bohemians moved into third spot with their biggest win of the season , 9-1 at Hemsby. El Sol moved up with a 2-0 win in Gorleston Rangers’ final game.

In Division Three GY Galaxy won 3-1 away to Caister Sunday. Wheelwrights overcame Patriots 2-1 on the Beaconsfield.

The league is holding its annual presentation night at the Cliff Hotel on May 24. This year’s event is a three-course meal.

There will be guest speakers from the area who have had connections with the league either before or after a professional career.
