Tuesday was a great night for east coast duo Great Yarmouth Town and Gorleston on their travels.
The Bloaters were in top form at Aldiss Park to beat Norfolk Senior Cup finalists Dereham 2-1, to dent their hopes of finishing second in the Ridgeons Premier.
And the Greens romped to a 4-0 win at Swaffham which extended their advantage over closest rivals Cambridge University Press at the top of the First Division to four points from two games fewer.
Gorleston still have to play the other three teams in the top four, so their destiny really is in their own hands.
Gorleston are at home to Team Bury (3pm at Emerald Park), who are fifth from bottom.
Also tomorrow (Saturday), Yarmouth entertain Hadleigh United at the Wellesley (kick-off 3pm). Hadleigh are above the Bloaters in the table but a win would see Town leapfrog theme.
Hadleigh are on a six-match unbeaten run so it will be a tough task for Paul Tong’s side as they aim to produce a better performance than their disappointing defeat last time out on home soil against Felixstowe.
Yarmouth will be hoping the injuries sustained to Adey Ager and Luke Fell at Dereham will not rule them out of this encounter as the squad is already stretched.
But the Yarmouth team should take confidence from the fact that they beat Hadleigh in the reverse fixture back in August 4-1.
