Great Yarmouth Cycling Club’s Thursday time trial saw 12 riders take part in less than perfect conditions due to a strong headwind.

However two Great Yarmouth CC riders set course bests for the year,

Chessie Wood knocked 17 seconds of her previous best, setting a new time of 33:12 (18.1mph) while Jan Smith knocked two seconds of her previous course best for the year, finishing in 28:48 (20.8mph). Smith was also fastest woman of the night.

The fastest Great Yarmouth rider was Michael Morris, who completed the course in 26:18 (22.8mph). The event was won by Lucas He of Velo DClub Bracchi in 23:39 (25.4mph).

Saturday saw Iceni Velo’s inaugural 10 mile time trial on the B10/43.

Weather conditions were dry but riders were faced with a tough return leg into the wind.

Jenny Anderson, who is currently nursing a knee injury, completed the course in 26:06, making her the third fastest woman of the day.
