Charlie Lister's legendary status at Great Yarmouth reached new heights as the trainer swept up the first three places in the 20,000 Betfair East Anglian Derby final.

Fear Zafonic led Jordansoilution and Farloe Reason to a specatacular one-two-three in front of the Sky Sports cameras. For connections of the winner the victory made up for disappointment at the Blue Square English Derby at Wimbledon, when Fear Zafonic made all the running only to be pipped on the line by Mark Wallis's Kinda Ready.

For Lister it made it a career record of ten outright wins in this event.

Fear Zafonic, who romped home at odds of 9-2, won the race from the gate with a terrific start from trap three. It was his 17th win in 27 open races.

“It's brilliant,” said Lister. “But I'm more pleased for the dog because tonight made up for the Derby which he didn't deserve to lose.”

Jordansoilution was the 2-1 favourite while Lister's third finisher, Farloe Reason, went at 3-1 as Lister also set a record as the first man to train three of the six finalists and the first to record a one-two-three finish since the event came under national rules in 1975.
