The C team visited Gorleston and came home empty handed losing 56-80 0-5 points. G Hillier, D Hatchett, E Bulley, A Ellis started well but then dropped 16 shots in seven ends then scored 14 shots in four ends to lose 20-24. L Comerford, T Burrage, T Westgate, J May dropped 10 shots in the first five ends then scored a six but lost 19-31. D Seabourne, C Last, J Palmer, P Ladmore were 11-4 up at six ends took the brake off and lost 17-25.

The B team were at home to Gorleston and lost

55-81 2-5 points. L Gutteridge, D Richards, T Hatchett bowled well and won 20-11. J Wiseman, S Carpenter, W Moss were 15-8 up at 11 ends and won 20-15. N Green, H Plane, R Albone found shots hard to get and lost 9-16. S Hopwood, J Disspain, B Drake were 1-18 down then lost 6-39.

On Thursday the B team got back to winning ways against Browston B 86-53 6-1 points. H Plane, N Green, R Albone were 11-6 up at 11 ends then scored 15 shots in the last seven to win 26-6. S Carpenter, J Disspain, D Richards scored 14 shots on the first six ends and were never troubled to win 28-12. S Hopwood, F Shaw, W Moss had a good game and won 16-13. L Gutteridge, G Logan, T Hatchet were 14-6 up at 11 ends but then lost 16-22.

The A team visited Browston A and won 72-67 6-1 points. K Pooley, J Hewitt, R Pooley led 20-11 at 12 ends dropped a few shots but held on to win 21-20. D Seabourne, E Bulley, K Dunn were 0-10 down after four ends but a brilliant recovery gave them a 22-13 win capped by a great performance by 12-year-old Daniel Seabourne who was making his A team debut along with Eddie Bulley, D Webster, J Gray. D Mann had a ding-dong battle to win 14-13. J Ellis, T McNulty, A Calver were 8-20 down at 14 ends and lost 15-21; the seven shots they scored on the last four ends enabled us to win the match.

The ladies kept their unbeaten record at Bradwell, winning 68-43 5½-½ points. L Westgate, G Swanston, B Wright dropped a five on the fifth end but recovered to win 15-11. M Oram, P Ellis and C King were never troubled to win 25-14. J Saunders, J Warnes, R Beckett dropped a six on the second end but came back well to lead 12-9 and finished with an 18-18 draw.

In the Ladies' County Triples, L Westgate, P Ellis, C King were never behind and won 19-10. In the unbadged pairs Mo Oram and Carol King won 21-12. In the County Pairs Jean Howlett and June Warnes won by several shots and Pat Ellis and Carol King lost a close game 14-16. In the Ladies' County Fours, Beryl Payne and partners won their first round game but then lost the next.

Great Yarmouth BC entertained two touring sides last week - the first against Northgate County Bowls Association played in win and rain and lost 133-153 shots over seven rinks.

The top winning home rink of S Hopwood, J Disspain, J Gray, B Drake were 15-5 up at 11 ends and won 29-10. L Comerford, G Logan, D Richards, P Parsons were 15-4 up at 11 ends and won comfortably 17-12. J Willimott, G Simmons, T McNulty, K Dunn were 10-17 down at 12 ends but some great bowling saw them score 19 shots on the nine ends gave them a win of 29-19. L Moore, F Shaw, P Ladmore, R Albone were 11-5 up at 12 ends and held on to win 19-13. C Last, R Norton, D Hatchett lost 5-37. D Seabourne, T Westgate, S Carpenter, T Seabourne started well but faded away to lose 10-25. L Comerford, L Gutteridge, A Ellis, B Warnes lost 14-37.

The team from Bourneville BC played over eight rinks in matches reduces to 15 ends in adverse weather. Once again fielding three 12-year-olds and a 14-year-old and with them all bowling well Yarmouth won 108-81. Top winning rink of L Moore, T Burrage, J Palmer, J Warnes won 24-7. A Comerford, G Simmons, L Westgate, R Beckett won 10-9. C Last, B Philips, E Westgate, B Payne won 17-9. M Oram, C Johnson, A Ellis, J Gray won 16-7. G Swanston, A Huggins, S Carpenter, J Howlett won 14-9. J Burrage, J Willimott, G Poree, E Bulley started well but lost 6-16. G Logan, R Pooley, B Wright, B Drake were 7-0 up after four ends and lost a close game 11-13. L Comerford, P Winterburn, M Lynes and K Dunn had a close game throughout and lost 10-11. The visiting captain said the greens were the best he had ever played on.

In the Saturday drive the winner was Andy Jacobs and the runner-up Roy Pooley.
