J Ellis, J Gray, B Warnes and A Calver led the way with a stunning show, scoring at will to win 29-9. D Webster, T McNulty, M Cook and K Dunn were never troubled to win 25-8. R Pooley, J Hewitt, D Mann and M Colcombe had a much closer game and won 19-18.

The A team now go to Great Plumstead in the league play-offs.

The B team playing Thorpe Rec also won 63-58, 4-1.

S Hopwood, J Wiseman, J Sexton and W Moss won 21-12. S Carpenter, N Green, G Logan and T Hatchett flew out of the traps to lead 18-5 after nine ends and held on to win 24-19. H Plane, A Jacobs, D Richards and R Albone were 0-10 down to five ends, recovered to 18-21 at 18 ends then dropped six shots to lose 19-27.

In the Lovewell Blake Malta Cup, the A team were at home to high-flying Acle A and, after a very good game, lost 58-74, 0.5-6.5.

D Webster, J Gray and K Dunn lost a high scoring game 19-23. R Pooley, D Mann and M Colcombelost 14-18. T McNulty, P Barber and M Cook played very well to draw 14-14. J Ellis, B Warnes and A Calver were 9-8 up at 10 ends but only won two more ends to lose 11-19.

The B team went to Acle B and lost 53-77, 1-6.

J Wiseman, J Sexton and W Moss won 15-14. H Plane, G Logan and T Hatchett were 12-11 up at 15 ends, but lost 18-20. S Hopwood, S Carpenter and B Drake were 6-6 at nine ends but lost 9-15. N Green, D Richards and R Albone were 0-11 down at six ends and lost 11-28.

The C team completed the hat-trick when they went to Acle B and also lost 36-92, ½-6½ with both teams playing one man short.

D Seabourne and D Saunders played very well to draw 14-14. L Comerford, E Bulley and J Palmer only scored on seven ends to lose 8-22. P Comerford, T Burrage and J May only scored on four ends to lose 6-22. P Ladmore, T Westgate and D Hatchett were 0-20 down and never recovered to lose 8-34.

The semi-finals and final of the Lovewell Blake Malta Cup will be played on Sunday on the seafront greens at Great Yarmouth, starting at 10am.

It was left to the ladies to give some joy in the Lovewell Blake Malta Cup.

Playing Browston Ladies away they had a good win, 56-35, 5-1.

B Philips, G Swanston and B Wright won 29-10. S Allen and J Saunders won 14-12. L Westgate, P Ellis and C King started well but dropped seven shots on the last five ends to lose 9-13.

In a return friendly match with Caister on Sunday Caister completed the double by beating the home side 125-142.

Top winning rink was A Comerford, J Saunders, G Logan and D Richards 29-17. A Huggins, J Burrage, P Ellis, J Gray won 24-18. P Winterburn, D Saunders, J Palmer and J Warnes won 18-14. L Comerford, C Johnson, T Westgate and A Ellis won 16-14. M Oram, P Comerford, J Howlett and B Warnes lost 14-22. S Bradford, A Doxey, T McNulty and K Dunn lost 12-28. B Phillips, L Westgate, T Burrage and R Pooley lost 12-29.

In the club competitions men's four wood singles John Gray beat John Ellis 21-13 and Tony McNulty received a walk over.

In the open pairs Graham Logan and Norman Green beat Danny and Janet Saunders 33-5.

In the men's pairs Arthur Calve and Brian Warnes overwhelmed Adam Comerford and John Gray 29-6.

In the final of the ladies pairs Mo Oram and Pat Ellis beat Jane Burrage and June Warnes 17-13.
