Plane, 14, drew the last position on the 20 car grid but fought his way through the pack to take a well deserved victory. North Pickenham's Ricky Garrod had earlier been the front runner, winning a heat and final double with Leicestershire's Tasmin Godden, winning their first race.

The Formula 1400s were racing for the Norfolk Silver Cup, sponsored by Peterborough's WayneSpeed racing.

Sleaford's Joe Smith led from start to finish to win from Michael Benstead (Wisbech) and Luke Leedell. Smith had earlier won the formula's first race with Mark Shinn winning the second.

Kings Lynn's Paul Bowen initially stole the show in the Thunder Rods, winning both heats before finishing second in the final behind Ben Kerry (Diss) with Steve Copland (Norwich) completing the top three.

The Street Stocks provided three different race winners, Thetford's Tony Pallett and Stoke Ferry's Shaun Klyn winning the heats before King's Lynn's Damien Fish won the final ahead of Pallett and Klyn.

Bangers completed another packed afternoon's racing. North Walsham's Jay Neale won the first heat with Rob Klyn (East Winch) winning the second. Klyn complete his double in the final with Fakenham's Sean Haller second and Neale third spot.

Swaffham's next meeting is on the September 6, with the main event the 40 lap Thunderdome 40 for the Thunder Rods. In support are the bangers, mondeo rods, street stocks and ladies' bangers.
