At a party held at the home of Trevor Martin, the young footballers of the Great Yarmouth Town Football Club's U9 team were rewarded for their successes in their first full season with a presentation of trophies.

This is the first year that Great Yarmouth Town have had a team in this age group and the team have been double winners of the Norfolk and Suffolk Youth League and League Cup. They were also runners-up in the Ipswich and Suffolk Open Cup final, just losing out on a penalty shoot-out.

The guest of honour was Dale Gordon, the Yarmouth club's director of football, who presented the prizes. Dale, who also runs the Dale Gordon Football Academy and who had a long and successful professional career playing for Glasgow Rangers, Norwich City and West Ham United, congratulated the manager Wayne Hunter, coach Dan Sims and the whole team on a very successful season. He wished them all the best for next season as U10s.

Wayne Hunter praised the fantastic team spirit of all the players and their will

to win.

Every team member received a participation trophy, with special awards to: Manager's player of the year Callum Aizlewood; Players' player Kyle Haylock; Supporters' player Archie Wallis; Golden Boot for top goal-scorer Thomas Hunter.
