Following his success at the Captain's Drive-In in January, junior captain Matty Banyard made a winning start to his 2009 campaign with an impressive win in Saturday's stableford competition at Caldecott Hall Golf Club.
Matty came in with an impressive 39 points, one point in front of the ever present (in competitions) Steve Greatrex.
Matty has only been playing golf for two years. He played solid golf throughout his round and was a worthy winner.
In his first year in competitive golf he represented Caldecott in junior tournaments across the county and had success home and away in the Scratch League. Matty (pictured) said that he is pleased with the win but feels there are better things to come.
