Young Winterton cricketers aim to build on success

PUBLISHED: 20:34 11 March 2012

Winterton Cricket Club Under 11s are preparing for a second season in the Broadland Youth Cricket League, where they will look to build on the promising foundations of last year.

Indoor training will be running at John Grant School, Caister, every Wednesday in March from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. All newcomers are very welcome at these sessions which are an ideal opportunity for anyone between the ages of 8 and 11 to discover the game of cricket.

From April onwards, training will be on Friday evenings at Winterton’s ground. The season which runs through to August, will include competitive matches, friendly matches as well as weekly practice sessions.

The club is eager for as many youngsters in the area with an interest in cricket to come along and be part of a fun, relaxed and ever improving junior team. For any further information contact Chairman Geoff Roper on 01493 393883 or Secretary Bryn Clarke on 01493 722405.
