Pupils at Woodlands Primary experienced the magic of the FA Cup as they took part in Norfolk County FA's event held at the UEA.

Twenty four teams from Norfolk schools participated in a mixed five-a-side team tournament, with each school being given an 'adopted' professional team for the day, based on the schools' colours.

Woodlands were Blackpool, with their tangerine kit, and the team got into the spirit of the day with face paints.

Year 5 pupil Steven Fackman was the 'mini manager' for the day, and had a great time using his tactics board and giving the team talks.

Woodlands played some attractive football, scoring 16 goals and winning three games. They lost just the one match to the eventual FA Cup winners, Shrewsbury Town (Loddon), in the last seconds of the game.

The pupils had an enjoyable day rounded off by an excellent question and answer session with FIFA official Darren Cann, who officiated at the 2006 FA Cup final.
