Gorleston Rangers Ospreys U7 played Ormesby Tigers in the semi-final of the trophy. Ospreys took control from the start. Billy was pulling the strings in midfield with plenty of quality forward passes and when needed some great tackling. Finlay was always strong going forward and Onur was his usual self, putting in a strong performance at the back, Arthur was very strong and his left foot was always a threat. Archie in goal was solid as usual as he always came to the rescue when called upon. Ormesby never gave in, A very good game saw Ospreys reach the final against Gorleston Rangers Eagles on April 26, Emerald Park at 11,15. A big thank you to Owen of Darby and Liffen for his sponsorship.

Gorleston Rangers Ospreys U12 played a home game against Shrublands. Ospreys again started well. Tayler and Zak linked well and again Max was put through to beat the keeper to go 1-0 up. Cam and Leo were unplayable down the left. Shrublands couldn’t cope. The second goal came from the back where Tris put Tayler through, and his mazy run ended with a fine finish. It was all Ospreys and a good through ball from Liam W put in Max and he got his second goal. Ospreys were well on top with Shrubs only getting snippets of the game. It was Zak’s turn to get on the scoresheet with a fine first time strike. Liam W then took a good corner and a scramble in the box saw Tris with a header that then came out to Bailey, he put it back in the mix, and Liam A finished well. Cam put in Tayler and he hit another unstoppable shot to make it 6-0. MOM was Tayler. Thanks to Aquazone, JLCN2 Services and JDK Developments for their support.

Gorleston Rangers Eagles U9 were at home to Ormesby. Even having beaten them two weeks earlier in the Cup semi-final. With the wind at Eagles backs in the second half they expected to turn it on but they continued in the same vein as the first half with Ormesby again edging it. Jake and the back three of Travis, George and Andrew did well, Kye was a dynamo in midfield, ably assisted by Ollie F, Robbie, a scorer in the second half, Kian and Ollie D. MOM was Kye, having his game of the season so far.

Spain U12 played third-placed Harleston away and it was a superb Spain performance. Early in the game, with Spain dominating, Curtis, in his new centre midfield role made an excellent run and hit a 20-yard shot into the top left hand corner. Harleston equalised from an excellent header. Jack was unlucky putting two shots just wide, one from an awesome right wing cross from Dalton. Hayden was in outstanding form, collecting everything with great hands. Toby, Harvey, Macey and Max put in a top defensive performance. Marcus and Curtis controlled the midfield while Chester and Fabian did a superb job. Thanks to Kingfisher for the sponsorship.

Acle U12 welcomed Mutford and Wrentham to Bridewell Lane. Acle got a break down the left with some good passing for Ben to pop up and score. Acle settled down and Jayden went close a couple of times. Breaking again down the right hand side with Ollie, he took the ball to cross for Ben to get on the end of it to make it 2-0. Just before half time Acle had another break with Ben getting the ball and finding the back of the net to complete his hat-trick. In the second half Max was able to beat his defender and find the top right hand corner of the goal. Ben popped up again to curl the ball over the keeper into the top right hand side and make it 5-0.

FC Bradwell U7 Brazil played in the Plate. The boys pulled their best performance of the season out of the bag. Excellent individual runs and skills along with determined, solid defending made for a terrific game. Goals from Cameron, George U and Samuel sealed the progression through to the next round. MOM was Samuel for his outstanding performance in midfield.

Bohemians Comets U11 travelled to Walmer Road to take on KPFC Panthers, with both sides in the running for the runners-up spot. Comets made a slow start and the away side were caught flat-footed by the home side who tore into their opponents and deservedly took the lead on four minutes. From out of nothing Bohemians almost equalised when Samuel hooked a shot against the crossbar. Bohemians kept up the momentum at the beginning of the second half but Kirkley are too good a side to be kept quiet and on 40 minutes they increased their lead. The match entered the last 10 minutes, with Comets determined to try to get back into the game and they were rewarded when Joshua slammed the ball home. Three minutes later they levelled when a corner came into the box. Haydn headed the ball on to the post and the loose ball was rifled in by Liam. Next game, Gorleston Rangers away, April 12.

Ormesby Lads U15 played their final away game of the season at Breydon United, with the home side only fielding 10 players and a stand in goalkeeper. From the start Breydon looked dangerous and they took the lead. Early in the second half Billy poached an equaliser and Jamie scored from distance to give Ormesby the lead. Luke D and Billy added a goal each before the home side pulled a goal back. MOM was Jamie. Next match v Loddon Grasshoppers at Station Road.

Ormesby Lads U7 Tigers were at Gorleston Rangers Ospreys for their Trophy semi-final. Trailing at the break Luca took over in goal for the second half and made some good saves. Alexander scored a great goal that was a reward for his commitment and effort. But it was just a consolation as the Tigers bowed out after a brave fight. MOM was Alexander. Next match v Waveney Thundercats away.

Freethorpe U9 played at home against Heigham Park. Jakob was solid both in goal and defending it. Rhys got involved and was brave enough to play in goal in the second half. Tobias was always a threat, capable of striking the ball from anywhere. Callum played like a warrior, throwing himself into any challenge. Will was up and down the pitch all game, trying to pull Freethorpe forward. Josh showed some nice touches. MOM was Billy, his skills and speed on the pitch were a joy. The most pleasing part of the game was that after conceding a few, Freethorpe players carried on with the same determination. Thanks to John for a good refereeing display.
