YOUTH RUGBY: Broadland-Great Yarmouth RFC hosted two days of youth rugby over the Easter weekend as clubs from around Norfolk and Suffolk joined in the action at Cobholm playing fields. Saracens Amateur RFC also played in the tournament, adding to the profile of the event. The tournament was aimed at children between seven and 12 with competitions running in each age group. Saracens, as expected, won almost all the competitions across the two days, with Wymondham winning the under-10s and under-12s on Saturday afternoon. The highlight for Broadland-Great Yarmouth was a 6-0 try win over Lowestoft and Yarmouth U12s. Over 1,000 people, including the Mayor, Michael Jeal, attended the event in hot sunny conditions. Broadland Great Yarmouth youth chairman Andy Goff said: “A weekend of outstanding rugby and played in great spirit. A really big thank you to all the volunteers who helped at the club over the weekend.” For further details about the club, visit www.broadlandrfc.com
