BOHEMIANS GIRLS U10 played their very first league match, away to Sprowston Hawks, and despite losing 2-0 did the club proud. They enjoyed the best of the first half and had the better chances but went in a goal down to a bit of a fluke. Megan went in goal second half and Georgia and Lauren played in defence and dealt admirably with everything they faced. Alice and Daisy both showed in midfield lots of potential Up front Millie showed how much she has progressed since she started training and the best two chances fell to Bruna whose well-struck shots were well saved. In the last minute Sprowston converted a penalty despite Megan's best efforts to save it. Well done to Michael who refereed very fairly and thank you to all the parents who supported the girls, in particular Lynn and Jaime. PoM: Lauren. BOHEMIANS GIRLS U15 away to Norwich Greens saw Laura Jane rifle home for an early lead. Bohs then seized control, Chelsea and Natalie causing havoc down the wings, but all the pressure did not yield further goals. Second half another scorching run by Natalie followed by a pin-point cross set up Laura Jane to side-foot home. Greens came back into the match and a collision between the keeper and the Greens' striker saw a penalty awarded which was nearly saved by Laura. Libby skipped past the Greens defence to be upended by the Greens' keeper. Sasha smashed home the penalty. Ellen and Marcie made goal saving tackles, there were non-stop workrates from Natalie, Chloe and Megan. Neneh and Chelsea both had very good games and Libby and LJ were a constant threat up front and Laura did superbly well in goal. The defence of Sasha, Ellen and Marcie were rock-solid all game and Marcie edged PoM. A great match refereed brilliantly by Andrew Hardy, and thanks to Steve and Huggie who both lined very fairly. BOHEMIANS GIRLS U14 at home to Freethorpe were decimated by injury and illness and could only field eight players of whom three were very tired from the previous day's exertions against Norwich Greens. Ellie opened the scoring with a sweetly-struck shot before Sophie hit a superb shot into the top left corner. The Freethorpe keeper made a string of good saves and when she was next beaten the crossbar saved her from a ferocious shot by Chloe, who was superb. Freethorpe hit back with a very good finish from outside the area before Natalie scored a deserved goal after seeing a string of efforts either well saved or narrowly miss. The second half saw Chloe hit her second before Freethorpe again hit back with another good finish. Thereafter it was all Bohs as Ellie and Natalie scored with a shot of real venom. The final goal went to Chloe who was inspirational and covered every blade of grass. There was an assured performance by Hollie between the sticks and Kirsty and Holly were solid and dependable,marshalled in defence by Marcie who every match is impeccable. Thanks to Charlotte who refereed her first ever nine-a-side match and did very well. Player-of-the-match: Ellie.

CAISTER U12 visited Waveney C in the Shield on Sunday. Caister played good football and deserved the 8-0 win which put them through to the next round. Credit goes to Waveney, who never gave up fighting throughout the game. Goal-scorers were Tyler Bleach (2), Bradley Rowand (2), George Lewis (2), Bradley Baker and Bradley Stark. MoM: Luke Wyton for a solid performace at centre-half.

CAISTER U9B took on their fierce rivals Caister A in competitive league two encounter. An even first 10 minutes saw chances for both sides, but the B team took control. Good saves from Danny, Alex Q and Richie from the A team keeper kept them in the game. The pressure finally told and Alex Q put the B ahead. Richie then curled a delightful shot which came back off the crossbar which kept the score to 1-0 at half-time. The second half continued with good passing and movement from Will, Reece and Harley creating chances, and Richie having a fine game scored two well-taken goals. Harry, having an excellent debut, almost scored, Ozzy who travelled many miles to play and Alifie who never let the team down, all played well. It was left to Alex Q to finish a fine team performance with the fourth, making the final score Caister U9B 4, Caister U9A 0 to send Caister B top of the league. MoM: Richie, worked tirelessly, hit the bar and scored two.

COBHOLM BOYS U8 had another one-sided game, to a sporting Waveney D. Cobholm created many chances, but the passing wasn't very good this week. The team must listen when the manager gives them instructions. MoM went to Callum for some good saves. Next game Halesworth away, meet units 9.15am Sunday, training Saturday 10am.

GFC U12A played a very good G Rangers B team in the semi-finals of the cup. FC started with the midfield putting some nice through balls behind the defence and Joseph Harris running riot on the right wing with some half-chances going begging, Rangers had a couple of good chances. With 10 minutes left of the first half Connor put Hayden through who made no mistake with a cool finish then Trafford put a lovely pass down the wing to Connor whose pin-point cross set up Hayden to put FC two up. The second half saw FC creating endless chances with Lewis, Dom and Elliott going close. Elliott made it three with a great shot which the keeper parried for Elliott to score the rebound. Rangers were rewarded with a well-taken goal and could have scored another but for a great save from Reece. This was a great team performance to reach the cup final. Back to league action this week away to Waveney, 10.30am kick-off, meet at the Sun pub, 9.30am.

GORLESTON RANGERS U11 GIRLS met Bohemians. The largest crowd of the season saw top of the table and undefeated Rangers taking on a Bohs side who had lost only once all season. After only a few minutes a long throw from their keeper fell to Aimee who sent a fierce volley straight back and beyond the stranded goalie. Soon after a trademark long throw from Rangers fell to Neve in the box who tapped in No 2. Coming on as an early substitute Jane had an immediate impact latching onto another long throw and from just outside the box she let fly a rocket for goal No 3. Second half, with quality football and decisive passing, Beth, Jess and Neve ripped through their opponents defence before crossing to Aimee who fired home from close range. Rangers' free flowing football forced several corners resulting in two more goals, one an own goal and the other crossed by Mary and slotted home by Hannah S. Mary, Beth and Hannah S were solid in defence and Aimee bagged a deserved hat-trick before Mary set up her sister Hannah C to slam home. Debutant Gemma grabbed her first goal for Rangers in the dying minutes. Bohs' only effort came at the end with a well struck free-kick from just outside the box that was spectacularly saved by substitute keeper Aimee. Final score, an emphatic 9-0 victory. GoM: Gemma, for a first-class debut.

GORLESTON RANGERS U11A played a double header of tough games on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday they played a previously unbeaten Caister side in the quarter-finals of the Shield and produced an excellent display and result. Rangers were on top from the first whistle and came away with an impressive 7-0 victory with the goals scored by Lewi (3), Mitch (2), Greeny and Zac. The display by the back four was the feature of the day In the semi-finals Rangers have a home tie against Loddon. On Sunday, Rangers visited St Johns of Ipswich in the Open Cup and produced another excellent display against a very strong and capable team. Every player stood up to the challenge in a bruising encounter and won 4-1 with the goals by Spud (3) and Zac. They now face Waveney A in the quarter-finals. This weekend Gorleston have a trip to FC with a 2pm kick-off, meet at The Mag 1.30pm in away kit.

GORLESTON FC U10B travelled to the highly-rated Waveney Youth. The game started at a high pace with Gorleston having some early chances. However Waveney soon went into a 2-0 lead. The game was secured when Waveney scored a third goal before half-time. The boys were not dejected, having had seven corners to Waveney's one in the first half. The second half saw a further goal for Waveney. The lads were now playing their natural passing game and duly rewarded with a goal from Haydn and another from Sam W. Gorleston were continuing to press for a third when they conceded a breakaway goal two minutes from time to give Waveney a 5-2 win. Full credit to all the squad for a battling performance. Man of the match: Haydn.

GORLESTON FC U7B visited Hemsby. GFC took a while to warm up and they allowed Hemsby to take the lead in the first 10 minutes. The boys had to work hard and managed to pull back by half-time. The second half started with complacency on the GFC side but they raised their game again and held their own against a good Hemsby side. Man of the match for GFC was Marshall.

GORLESTON RANGERS U8A were at home to Hemsby, and as the whole team were available there were some team changes throughout the game to enable everyone to have their chance on the pitch. In a close game, the team were again working very hard for one another and putting in maximum effort. Thanks to Paul Chapman and the Hemsby team for a good game played in great spirit. Thanks also for all the support from both sets of fans. Man of the match went to Brandon. The last game of the season is against Waveney Youth away on Sunday.

GORLESTON RANGERS U8B worked very hard in a fantastic game of football, played in great spirit. Logan was very solid in defence, with George, Joe and Jayden attacking very well as a team. Harrison put in a good performance, closing down the opposition, and Ethan made some great saves. Well done to the whole team, and thanks to all the supporters. Also a special thanks to Terry for all his hard work over the past couple of years.

GRFC U10B entertained Bungay Town. From the kick-off some great passing play from Aaron, Sam, Henry and Ben resulted in a shot going just wide. With Rangers edging possession and creating opportunities the Bungay keeper kept them from scoring with some great saves. Shaun pulled off a great fingertip save and one at the feet of the advancing Bungay forward. A rare outing for Max in defence kept it solid at the back and he teamed up well with Luis. James PR released Shaun from his duties in goal and kept another clean sheet. At the other end Rangers kept up the pressure. Shaun and Joel chased down every ball like every player in green and white hoops. Henry ran 30 metres with the ball, fed a pass to Sam who was supported by Joel. Sam took the ball around the keeper and slotted his shot into the net. Ben collected the ball wide on the left on the halfway line and beat three Bungay players with his pace before hitting a low drive into the bottom right corner to give Ranger their victory. . HEMSBY HORNETS WASPS U9 played against a very strong Cobholm Boys. Hemsby's squad consisted of a full turn out comprising of Ryan, Matthew, Jed, Thomas, Charlie, Jack, Liam, and Elliot. Matthew captained his team through a tough match where they conceded their first goal not long after kick-off. Hemsby kept their chins up after conceding another goal and put up a good fight. With Charlie scoring his first goal of the season, the final score was 2-1 to Cobholm. Training Saturday, 10am Kings Loke.

BOHEMIANS U12 played at home to Dereham Wanderers U12 in an exciting game. Keeping the girls in their positions for the first half paid off and they were 5-0 up. In the second half the team was moved around giving all girls some experience in other positions and they managed to keep their positions and shape. All girls played very well and won 8-2. Well done Toni for scoring her first hat-trick this season. Thanks to the referee Scott.

BOHEMIANS GIRLS U16 away to Gorleston Rangers gave a good demonstration of quality passing and finishing. Charlotte Eaton opened the scoring and Chelsea quickly added a second before Dayna, Charlotte Eastwood and Becks added further goals before half-time. Second half saw Megan and Becks both complete hat-tricks. There were further goals for Dayna, Chelsea and Charlotte Eaton and Charlotte Eastwood. A match played in a really good spirit and Rangers deserve maximum praise as they never gave up and were admirably supported by both John and Anjali. Both linesman officiated very fairly and Robin did an excellent job in the middle. Next match away to Swindell. Player-of-the-match: Charlotte Eastwood.

SHRUBLAND GIRLS U13 played away to Bungay. The girls worked well together, passing the ball and defending brilliantly against a strong Bungay team. Harriet, Courtney, CJ, Nicky and Amber took turns in goal as Shrubs had no goalkeeper or subs. By the end of the first half Shrubs were winning 5-0, although Bungay did work hard defending. There was another goal in the second half by Shrubs and in the last two minutes Bungay scored a well-deserved goal. Final score: 6-1. Goals to Abbie (2), CJ (2), Harriet and Nicky. Player-of-the-match went to Abbie. Thanks to Janet for running the line again.

BLUNDESTON MAGPIES U11, depleted, were away to Long Stratton in the quarter-finals of the Shield. It proved to be worth the trip with Magpies winning 2-0 in very muddy conditions. Scorers were Logan, on his 50th appearance for the club, and James. Adam was the man of the match. He has been Mr Consistent all season, and along with Alex, Kyle and Owen had a great game in defence. Callum again played in midfield and proved that he can play well in this position as well as in defence. Jamie made some fantastic runs, even though he was carrying an injury and again Patrick showed what he is capable of offering, with Kieron doing well in the hole behind the striker. The keeper, Sam, kept his first clean sheet of the season with some good saves. All the boys put in a tremendous amount of effort, with several carrying injuries, but only having 11 boys available, no subs were possible. The team can be tremendously proud of their efforts and deserve their place in the semis.

ORMESBY LADS U10, away to Kirkley & Pakefield E, were soon in front when Ben capitalised on a defensive lapse to nip between keeper and defender and poke the ball home from close range. Leon almost added to the lead after a clever run, and Carter went close several times after excellent approach work. K&P had good spells, but Andrew and Kai looked assured at the back. Another mazy run from Carter ended with a bad challenge and sore ankle that took the edge off his game. In the second half K&P pressed for an equaliser and Antonio had to make two or three good saves including a brilliant tip over from a close-range shot. Victoria and Brandon had turns up front with Brandon going agonisingly close to extending the lead. Jamie had a great spell near the end, making determined runs, and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet. As the whistle went the one goal was enough to take the three points. MoM was Sam for an excellent performance in midfield that shows what a valuable asset he has become in his short time at the club. No match this weekend. Next match game is on February 21at home against Harleston, kick-off 11am, Station Road.

STALHAM U10 played Reepham and won 4-2. The team have worked very hard in recent weeks and really deserved their win. The boys started off playing too deep which to a corner from which Reepham scored. Reepham scored with a good strike to make it 2-0. Stalham kept their heads up and Harry and Josh were both unlucky not to score. Late in the second half Stalham got their well deserved goal, scored by Daniel, who came on to play upfront. Stalham's confidence grew and they scored three more to finish the game 4-2. Daniel scored all four (in seven minutes) with great assists from Sean BK, Josh and Troy (2). The whole Stalham team played well, from Joseph who had a great game in goal and Jake and Chris who made strong tackles at the back to Mathew Tipper who had a great game and Troy and Sean BK who played some super passes and were involved in good team play. Harry showed strength in the middle and Ryan battled in midfield and defence. Josh had his best game of the season coming close to scoring and also assisted with one of the goals. Daniel had an influential game as striker.

STALHAM U12A on Sunday travelled to Blofield for the second round of the NNYL Cup. Both teams started well with some good build-up play, Matti scoring his first goal of the day after some great team work. Joel was called on several times to make some good saves but Blofield's persistence saw them score, 1-1. Coming up to half-time saw good passing moves throughout the team giving Matti his second goal, 2-1 half-time. More pressure from Stalham after the break saw Matti slot in his third. Blofield fought back hard to make it 3-2. Tom, Dom, Jake and Adam were denied by a excellent Blofield. PoM: Aiden.

SWINDELL GIRLS U16 in their first game December 5 had a cracking encounter against a very good North Walsham. Although Swindell were beaten 2-1 no more could have been asked from the girls. In total control first half, Mags thundered in from close range and shortly after her shot smacked the bar. Waves of attacks ended with North Walsham's keeper, made saving everything Swindell threw at her in an outstanding display. Against the run of play the leveller came from rare attack into Swindell's area.. Swindell came storming back, Mags (who was having a cracking match), Smudge, Gabi, Betty and Ellie all having marvellous chances. Lissa gave another eye-catching performance getting her tackles in. Second half was a lot closer, Megan made some telling stops. Swindell's chances came and went, again the North Walsham keeper behind everything. Paisley, Gabi and Smudge the defensive line looked solid. After Walsham hit the bar, a long shot trickled under Meg's body with only a few minutes left. Ellie shot wide with a chance to equalise. Swindell played some of the best football of the season so far and did not deserve to lose. RPoM (apart from the North Walsham keeper who had a blinder): all nine players.

BLUNDESTON MAGPIES U12 won 7-0 at Mutford. An excellent display saw them breeze into the next round of the Shield. Magpies dominated the opening exchanges and converted it into goals. Every player in the squad had a good game. In the first half in particular Ally, George, Patch and Chopper maintained control across the midfield with Foxy proving a handful up front. The defence were untroubled throughout. Fletch in goal was assured and offered good distribution. Half-time came with Magpies scoring five for no reply but Mutford came out a different side after the interval. They harried and closed down the Magpies' midfield and broke menacingly. The Magpies slowly clawed back some control and emphasised this with a finely taken lob from Chopper and a piece of goal scoring genius from Gibbsy. Man of the Match: Foxy. Goals: George, Gibbsy, Ally, Chopper, Patch, Foxy, og.

COBHOLM U9 played against Hemsby B, Cobholm going 2-0 up in five minutes with goals from Jacob and Keanan. Jacob scored in the first 12 seconds and Keanan finished a lovely team move with all players involved. After that Cobholm just went into cruise mode and could have scored seven or eight more goals, but found the Hemsby goalkeeper in fine form. Jordan, Mazie and Will McGregor in goal were solid for most of the game but fell asleep in the last five minutes to allow Hemsby to grab one back. Keanan, Jacob and Will Field were chasing everything and creating lots of chances. Jordan got man-of-the-match for his consistency at the back.

COBHOLM U12 played at home in the Shield against Sole Bay with only 10 players. The defence worked hard, with the goalie shouting out good commands as well as making some great saves. It seemed to be the same few putting the effort in, which soon led to Cobholm being a lot of goals down. The defence and goalie were doing it all. The midfield and forwards must remember to chase back and help when the opposing team are on a break. Also lack of heading the ball tackling and marking led to Sole Bay getting even more goals. We need to work as a team and not individuals. Final score: 12-0 to Sole Bay. This week's man-of-the-match went to Cameron Field who played his heart out. Well done to the goalie and defence for battling on. Training 10am sharp Saturday.

GORLESTON RANGERS U10D visited Waveney Youth D last Sunday with a depleted team. With no subs they played a fantastic passing game and put on a brilliant show. The first half started with lots of play in the opposition half with lots of pressure and great passing and awareness. Dan was denied by the Waveney goalkeeper. Josh S, standing in for our regular keeper, made some excellent saves. Jack F with his no-nonsense defending and Callum with some great tackles and clearances kept sending the ball back for more attacks. The first half ended all square. The second half saw Callum making the breakthrough with a shot which rebounded straight back to him to shoot again into top corner. Josh B put in lots of hard work on the left. Dan crossed to captain Muhammed who tapped in to make it 2-0. Pedro went into defence alongside Jack F, working hard. Callum playing on the right wing second half crossed a lovely ball into the area where Muhammed slotted the ball home. Josh S came outfield for the last few minutesand had two good strikes saved. Final score: 3-0. Goal scorers: Callum, Muhammed (2). An inspiring performance.

HEMSBY HORNETS U10A played their League Cup quarter-final on Sunday against the B team and put in the best team performance of the season by far, which gave them theirfirst ever competitive victory over them. The As played a brilliant passing game. The 4-1 scoreline was a fully deserved one and it could have been a greater margin as the team battled back every time they lost the ball and supported going forward, creating chances and causing the Bs problems all over. Brady and Nathan were both excellent at the back and won virtually every tackle. Brady read the game well and used good passes out of defence to great effect. This meant a pretty quiet game in goal for Owen although he was alert and ready. Man-of-the-match Brennan made a great run down the wing before cutting the ball back for Dominic to score. Billy had a brilliant game in centre midfield and his pace caused problems. Hadley, against his former team, also had his best game this season and made some great runs and when he was fouled just outside the area it gave a great chance to increase the lead. Dominic obliged with another powerful free-kick into the bottom corner. The Bs came at the As briefly in the second half. Nathan had to come off with seven minutes left and the only real mistake let them in to score. But Hornets A pressed them back again and following some neat work from Sam, set up Hadley to make room in the box and find the net with a good finish for his first of the season. Billy, Hadley, Brennanwho then Billy again combined to give Sam time to pick his spot. This was an outstanding performance. Thank you to Nathan for excellently refereeing and to Dean and Steve for their help with the goals.

HEMSBY HORNETS U7B travelled to St Benets Wasps and played their best football of the season. This was a much-improved performance with all players full of running and attacking and defending as a team. Yet again Aaron was superb in goal and saved a well-struck penalty. With the goalkeeper's distribution and the Hornets' passing improving, this led to many chances. Man-of-the-match goes to the whole team for this excellent performance. Next match at home against Waveney C (kick-off 10.30am).

HEMSBY HORNETS U10B played Hemsby Hornets A in a cup round and lost. To say our performance was disappointing is an understatement. We did not pass, we did not defend and we did not create and on the day lost to a better side. Good luck to all the boys in the A team for the semi-finals. We must now move on and try and get it right this week. Man-of-the-match went to Cain. Next match at home to Loddon (kick-off 11.30am).

HEMSBY HORNETS U9 STINGERS lost a very close cup game to Burnt Hill on Sunday. Having reached full time with the score at 1-1, the match went to Burnt Hill 4-1 on penalties. The game was tight throughout. Hemsby started with just six players and no subs but everybody gave 100 per cent throughout. Having practiced formation play in training, it was pleasing for the manager to see this working. During the first half, Hemsby shared opportunities with Burnt Hill and apart from failing to clear, which led to the opposition goal, there were almost no mistakes. After half-time, Burnt Hill were put under more pressure which finally led to the equalizer by Tom, but several other chances were saved or defended well. Every player had moments to remember, Archie G made some fantastic saves. Jim was solid again in defence. Kahn played at his best in midfield. Calum continues to stun everyone with the improvements in his game. Tom worked the ball through some extremely tight defending but got back to help out in defence and Archie S showed a much more controlled side to his game. A few over-ambitious shots reassured everyone though that Stingers had not lost all of the excitable character which keeps the opposition players on their toes. Archie G was MoM, chosen by all the players. Training will be at 10am on Saturday. Sunday away to Kirkley and Pakefield at 10.30am in the league.
